Strategic Plan
AAIEP’s current Strategic Plan was revised and updated
for 2005-2007. Following is the outline of the Plan:
1. Administrative Structure and Organization
1.1 LTO: AAIEP maintains a central office that is adequately
staffed and equipped to efficiently support the organization’s
operations.
1.2 LTO: AAIEP sets strategic goals for the organization and establishes
a plan to carry them out.
1.3 LTO:
The positions and responsibilities of the Board reflect the priorities of the organization.
1.4 LTO: AAIEP maintains an effective financial plan which ensures that there is adequate revenue to implement the goals of the organization and to maintain its financial viability.
2. Standards
2.1 LTO:
AAIEP members are accredited by ACCET, CEA or regional accrediting commissions.
2.2 LTO: PSAs are required for members (and regionally accredited new applicants) that are not accredited by CEA or ACCET.
2.3 LTO:
AAIEP Board regularly reviews and revises as necessary its Standards and PSA.
2.4 LTO:
AAIEP actively encourages member programs to follow best practices in each Standard area.
2.5 LTO:
AAIEP actively encourages regional accredited member programs to seek ACCET or CEA accreditation.
3. Advocacy
3.1 LTO:
AAIEP will strengthen and support its advocacy by hiring a lobbyist.
3.2 LTO:
AAIEP communicates regularly with officials in U.S. Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Commerce to represent the interests of its members and for the purpose of furthering its advocacy aims.
3.3 LTO:
AAIEP informs the membership on industry enrollment trends by participating in Open Doors data collection and conducting meaningful and timely member surveys.
4. Membership Development
4.1 LTO:
AAIEP becomes a resource for member programs seeking to improve quality (holding seminars, web discussions, consultations, etc.).
4.2 LTO:
Outreach/Marketing conducts regular surveys to gauge membership needs.
4.3 LTO:
Outreach/Marketing keeps members updated on fairs and industry discounts.
4.4 LTO:
Outreach/Marketing helps members market their programs and effectively work with advisors and agents.
5. Marketing & Outreach
5.1
LTO: AAIEP Board Members increase associate membership and institutional members by 30% each year.
5.2 LTO:
AAIEP is an internationally recognized association of quality IEPs.
5.3
LTO: AAIEP reaches more service providers, agents, advisors, government agencies and the general public, including students, through various channels.
